Patient Opinion

Patient Opinion on provision of Assistive Technology (AT) services to improve independent living through collaborative working- This project was carried out in collaboration with the Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation Technology Service, City of Edinburgh Council

The aim of this project was to capture data and patient opinion about assistive technology services for individuals with long term conditions across Edinburgh and the Lothians, with a view to integrating existing and developing NHS and Health and Social Care services. A questionnaire was designed and administered to a selection of adult patients with acquired disabilities from the Keycomm and Health and Social Care Occupational Therapy services.  Patients were selected randomly from each caseload as part of initial assessment and review appointments at home or in local day centres. Data was gathered relating to what assistive technologies were currently being used, how and where assistive technology services should be delivered, and what should be offered by these services
